Dr. Alok Kumar Rai joined the Department as a UGC-Assistant Professor in September, 2018 under UGC-FRP programme. Before joining University of Delhi, Dr. Rai was Associate Professor at Amity University, Noida and Assistant Professor at Amrita Centre for Nanosciences & Molecular Medicine, Kochi. He is also the recipient of Ramanujan Fellowship and fast track young scientist grant from Science and Engineering Research Board, New Delhi, Government of India. Dr. Rai has completed his Ph.D in Applied Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology-Banaras Hindu University (IIT-BHU) in 2010. After that, he was offered two postdoctoral fellowships: one from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and other from South Korea. He was postdoctoral research fellow at Chonnam National University, Gwangju, South Korea for 4.6 years. He was also promoted as a Research Professor in the same university because of his impressive performances in the research. Dr. Rai research is mainly focused on novel solution-based synthesis to produce nanostructured metal oxides, energy storage nanomaterials for lithium ion and post lithium ion batteries applications, TEM studies on Li-intercalated/de-intercalated metal oxide nanomaterials and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
