Dr. M. Bhanuchandra
(Associate Professor)

Dr. M. Bhanuchandra obtained his Ph.D from the University of Hyderabad in 2014 under the guidance of Prof. Akhila Kumar Sahoo. He then moved to Kyoto University, Japan as a postdoctoral fellow to work on SNAr reactions and T.M-catalysed C-S bond action projects under the mentorship of Prof. Hideki Yorimitsu during 2014-2016. Later, he joined the Department of Chemistry, Central University of Rajasthan as an Assistant Professor in April 2016. Since March 2025, he has been working as an Associate Professor at the University of Delhi.
His current research interest includes:
- To develop sustainable reactions and methods in organic synthesis with special focus on transition metal-free conditions and visible light photoredox catalysis.
- To functionalize inert C-H bonds which includes C-H arylation, C-H nitrogenation, C-H oxygenation, C-H thiolation etc. of arenes(hetero) using sulfoxides as functionalizable directing groups. Validity towards the syntheses of biologically relevant small organic molecules.
- To design and syntheses of novel dibenzoheteroarene based D-A, D-A-D type pi-conjugated molecules for effective OLEDs with TADF approach.
